Antique GAGE Basket with Handle - Large Market / Gathering / Flower Basket - Splint Oak Wood.
The manufacturers name GAGE can be found on the outside handle, as seen in my first picture.
Splint Baskets bearing the Trade Mark GAGE are the best made. Manufactured only by Sidney Gage & Co., Bellows Falls, Vermont. GAGE was known as the largest manufacturers of Hand Made baskets in the United States.
The basket is in good condition, with just a few splits in some corners. Good, age worn condition. Some greyish marks can be found on the piece. Please review pictures.
The basket is 23" long, 14.5" wide, 7" deep, and from the bottom of the basket to the top of the handle is 13.5".
Beautiful versatile basket that has been in safe indoor storage for many years.
This basket has been in our family since my grandparent's era, it is an antique.
